Distance MBA

Students who want to earn a master of Business Administration (MBA) but do not live close to the program of your choice should consider obtaining a Distance MBA. In recent years, Distance MBAs have proliferated alongside the growth in online learning and interest in MBA.

A Distance MBA program often combines elements of an online college degree with the more traditional weekend or summer course of study, allowing students to complete some course work online and the rest in the classroom. These programs offer convenience and the benefits of living on campus, allowing students to interact with their classmates and teachers. This option may be ideal for students who want to earn their MBA in a brief period of time, such as two to three years, without leaving their current jobs.

It is easier than most people to realize to obtain financial aid to help pay for a Distance MBA. Loans and scholarships are widely available, and in some cases, employers will pay for part of their employees’ tuition and expenses if, for instance, they a certain grade point average or complete the course in a certain time frame. Those who are interested need to discuss various options with their employer before making a decision.

To fulfill admission requirements for a traditional MBA program, students need to submit an application, including a personal statement and letters of recommendation, and pass the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

A Distance MBA may be a better fit for students who cannot attend a full-time residential MBA program. When pursuing this option, students need to ensure that the program is not only accredited but also well respected in the field.
